Where is God?

 
We wanted to represent our view that God is everywhere and can be found in everything. We wanted to design something that every child and adult could enter into and interpret in his or her own unique way. We spent a long time planning, designing and collecting all the materials to make our cross. We came into school on Saturdays and afterschool to complete our project. The symbol of a cross can mean many things and can span different faiths. We wanted to enable people of all faiths to explore the question – Where is God? We wanted to make a focal point where children and adults could sit and reflect and see something different every time they looked at it. We decided to use buttons and beads to represent they many places and areas God can be found. God can be found in animals so we used a range of animal buttons.
* God can be found in celebrations such as Harvest, Easter and Christmas.
* God can be found in Children.
* God can be found in flowers.
* God can be found in seasons such as winter, spring, summer and autumn.
* God can be found in sea creatures.
* God can be found in values.
* God can be found in the world so we used different buttons such as Italy, Germany, Britain, France, New York and Australia to represent different parts of the word.
* God can be found in angels.
* God can be found in welcoming others.
* God can be found in me!
* God can be found in our homes.
* God can be found in music and praise.
* God can be found in sports.
* God can be found in creativity such as cooking and sewing.
* God can be found in gardens and insects.
* God can be found in babies.
* God can be found in hearts.
* God can be found in prayer.
* God can be found in people who care for us such as the health profession.
* God can be found in people who build and use tools.
* God can be found in school and the education system.
* God can be found in every colour.
* God can be found in every shape and size.
* God can be found in sparkle!
God can be found EVERYWHERE.
