Prayer Space Activities
Prayer Cubes
To develop prayer by making and using a prayer cube.
A wooden cube, selection of paint, selection of art and craft embellishments, glue, glue gun, selection of pens and felt tip pens, pegs, paper.
This activity is designed to make a resource that can be used as often as you like, ideally most days. Firstly, you need a cube of wood with holes drilled into it (at school our caretaker made them for us). Paint your cube the colour or colours you like and leave to dry. Once your prayer cube is dry you can start to decorate it! We used a whole range of things like: buttons, beads, pom poms, plastic jewels, sequins, charms, dolls’ accessories, football motifs etc. You can use anything to personalise your prayer cubeWe found that for some of our embellishments we needed to use a glue gun. Please make sure that if you use a glue gun you have an adult with you to help. On one side of your cube, glue on a peg. The peg will hold the paper that you can use to write down your thoughts and prayers. Place your prayer cube in a space you can easily see every day. Find some time to sit and use your special pens and the things you have added and talk to God.
