Type of Activity

Prayer Space Activities

Aim

To develop prayer through making prayer pops.

You will need

Ready made cake (chocolate, red velvet or plain), frosting, cake pop sticks, milk chocolate, white chocolate, cake pop templates to write prayers, mini ice-cream scoop, mixing bowl, wooden spoon, something to stand finished cake pops in, cake pop bags and ties, selection of sprinkles to add to finished cake pops, selection of art and craft materials.

Firstly, break up the ready made cake in a bowl until it resembles crumbs. Then add 2 large spoonfuls of frosting and mix with your hands until the mixture sticks together. Take 2 scoops of the mixture and make it into ball. Place the balls of mixture on a baking tray. Now melt a small amount of chocolate and dip the cake pop stick in the chocolate and then put the cake pop stick in to the ball of mixture. Leave tray of cake pops to chill in the fridge overnight. Cover your cake pop in chocolate and decorate with sprinkles etc. Sit quietly and enjoy your cake pop talking to God about all the sweet things in life you are grateful for. We used cake pop templates to write our thoughts and prayers on. Think of all the amazing things God has given to you, food, clothes, home, people who love you, toys, school etc.
