Following the example of Jesus- serving others

 

* This week we are looking at the importance of following the example of Jesus. If Jesus showed up here today, how do you think we might treat him? What would we do to make him feel welcome and loved? If he asked for something, would we provide it?
* Watch the video on the blog. Bishop Bridgeman Ethos children have produced a fantastic video this for this week, looking at following the example of Jesus and serving others.
* There are lots of examples in the Bible where God shows us that serving others is the right thing to do. Can you discuss any?
* What qualities do you have to serve others?
* How can you be of service to your school and community?
* How do we show service in our Trust?
* Use your window, door and mirror key rings to reflect on service. How do you feel now? What have you discovered? What will you take away from this week’s Ethos to Go?

We serve others by trying our best to follow our Christians values every day.

If Jesus came into our classroom we would give him a drink and together we would eat some special food. After that we would show him our school and tell him that we love him.

We know that we should be kind and helpful towards others. If we serve others well, we will be rewarded and served by God.

Here are some of our thoughts. I help others by giving them a hug if they are tired or angry. I help my Daddy to wash the pots. If Jesus were here we would share our milk and fruit with him.

If we ever met Jesus, we would treat him respect as he would treat us with respect and kindness. We should treat others how we would like to be treated. We should always love our neighbours equally.

We would show kindness, respect and loyalty to our peers and members of our school. Using the Bible we found many examples of Jesus showing people respect and love.

We serve others by helping those in need like the poor. We also help our family members when they need our assistance. We serve our adults by following instructions. Being kind is also a fantastic way to serve others.

We serve others by "being kind", "sharing... because sharing is caring" and 'making our friends happy". We serve our God by "praying to him because we like him".
