* This week we are looking at mental health and well-being. Why is it important to look after our mental health??
* Watch the video on the blog, St James Ethos children have produced a fantastic video this for this week.
* There are lots of examples in the Bible where God shows that he wants the very best for us. Can you discuss any?
* When do you feel good about yourself?
* Discuss the scenarios on the video.
* Feelings are linked to our behaviours. What sorts of things do you do to relax? Think about any hobbies you have.
* Can you think of your favourite place? Visualize yourself there. How do you feel?
* What sorts of things can you do to help build up your self-esteem? How can God help us?

Mental health gives us stress and depression, it also gives us more emotional feelings. It makes you fight against of how we feel and act.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage.

Year 5 discussed different strategies that we could use as a class and individually to benefit our mental health. As a class, we now value the importance of having mindfulness activities throughout our school day.

In Reception class, we have talked about our favourite place and how it makes us feel. We then meditated to music and thought about our favourite places. This made us all feel calm and relaxed.

When we thought about the times we felt good about ourselves, it instantly made us happier. We discussed lots of different ways to stay positive and to relax such as listening to music, dancing or art and crafts.

When we thought about our happy place, it made us feel better. We are looking forward to our wellbeing week next week and focusing on our mindfulness. To build our self-esteem we should think about what we are good at and celebrate the positives.

We believe that mental health is important because if we have poor mental health, we will struggle to concentrate and be the best that we can be. For support, we look to our adults such as teachers and families to help. Be kind to your minds!

As a class we believe it is important to look after our Mental Health. We believe that positive thoughts can lead to more achievements whereas negative thoughts can cause worry and distraction. We discussed ways to relax such as breathing exercises.
