Tapestry of Life

Tapestry of Life

* We are looking this week at our thoughts, actions, feelings and emotions.
* Watch the video on the blog, St James have produced our video this week. Are there times when you feel you are not good enough? How can you change the way you think about this?
* There are lots of examples of people in the Bible of Jesus accepting people for who they are. Jesus thinks that we are all good enough even in those times when we don’t.
* Can you think of examples in the Bible where Jesus believes in others even when they don’t believe in themselves?
* What would your tapestry look like?

We all agree that we have different emotions and we should all stick together like a tapestry. We are all unique and so I sure a picture made up with different material. I also thought how w things build up day by day.

We all agree that we may not feel good at everything but if we compare ourselves to each others it can be helpful.

We sometimes think that anger or sadness is a bad thing. But we should look at it from a positive perspective and try to ignore that your anger is getting the best of you and focus on the bright side because you are always in control. Anger is a gift

I agree that our actions and emotions control the way we feel so we should try to keep away from anger or we could get in serious trouble but not everyone is perfect so we should help others with depression and sadness.

We agree that our thoughts and actions control the way we feel. Listening to our own thoughts and acknowledging them can improve our chances of being mentally stronger and happier.

It's part of being a human to feel emotional at times but nobody is perfect. God made us so we can make mistakes and fix them. If someone is mean we should tell a trusted adult to help us out. Always believe in yourself!

Not everybody is perfect but many think perfect is the only place to be good enough. This is not true. People should know who they are and to be who they want to be. You should find people and tell people their positive qualities they may not know.

Feeling “good enough” is a mindset, meaning it can ebb and flow, without notice. Some days you may feel powerful, like you're truly in the right place in life, and other days might have you feeling as if you're “less than” others around you.

It's okay to feel emotional sometimes because God made feelings for us. Sadness is part of our life. If we don't feel sad, life might be boring for some people. You won't know when you're sad. We are lucky to have emotions.

Your sadness is a gift. Don't reject it. Don't rush it. Live it fully use it as fuel to change and grow. It is okay to be sad. If you feel sad you can speak to someone you trust.

We all agree that we may not feel good at everything, but if we compare ourselves to others it can be unhelpful. There ARE things we are good at and should be proud of what we can do or aim to improve if possible.

When I don't feel good enough I can change the way I feel by doing something I really like, to help get my mind off it, and also speak to a friend.

Yes, I'm not always happy but I can change the way I feel by thinking happy thoughts or try to make friends.

''Stop treating your feelings as if they could tell you who you are.'' Remember that Everyone feels sad sometimes, because of unwanted things happen in their life, love. Love yourself and be happy .

We also remind ourselves that anything is possible even if it doesn’t feel like that in that moment. We use our resilience to change our mind-sets and think about the power of YET.

When we are feeling as though we are not good enough, we like to do things that we enjoy such as playing games and spending time with our family and friends.

We discussed how we weave together as a class to support each other and make each other stronger. We talked about as we get older and move through school as a class the tapestry will continue to grow and get stronger.

We talked about our life tapestry and how it is built up day by day. We linked it in with a discussion about having a growth mindset to help build our self esteem and weave this throughout our lives. This way we can show the best version of ourself.

If you feel like you're not good enough, you can surround yourself with people that love you. If you come across someone who feels like they aren't good enough, you can remind them of their best qualities. Always remember, God loves us all.

We have been weaving in class and we have used the colour yellow for happiness. When people are sad we try to use our Christian value of kindness to make them happy again.

Y3 St Maxentius

Sometimes in life people may not show how they are feeling, it is therefore important that we, as children of God, use our kindness to understand these feelings and to help support people in every way we can. We are woven together.

You may be feeling like you're not good at anything because there's a particular skill you want to master that you've been having no luck with. This is enough to get anyone down. You might simply be at that pivotal point of your journey.
