We discussed lent and how we can apply this to our lives. We discussed different things we could give up and how this links to the sacrifices Jesus made for us.

M2 really enjoyed learning about Jesus' journey and the sacrifices that he made for us. We thought hard about what we could give up for Lent and the sacrifices we could make. Children decided they would give up chocolate, games and sweets.

We discussed the sacrifices that Jesus made during his time in the wilderness. We thought about what sacrifices we could make during lent and how this would make us feel.

We discussed how hard it would've been for Jesus when he was on his own. We thought about different things we could give up for lent to remember the sacrifices Jesus made for us. Finally, we decided individually which thing we were each giving up.

We talked about the difficulties Jesus faced during his time in the wilderness. We thought about things we could easily give up and things we would find more difficult to give up. We then made our Lenten promises, let’s hope we can keep them!

We have talked about how we can sometimes give something to remember the time Jesus spent in the wilderness. We talked about giving up chocolate cake, playing video games and chips.

We have thought hard about what we could give up for Lent and to join with Jesus in his sacrifice. Some children said watching cartoons and giving up sweets.

L1 enjoyed learning about why we celebrate Shrove Tuesday. We came up with a list of items we could give up in sacrifice such as crisps and chocolate cake.

We found out why we have Lent after Pancake day. Some of us want to try to do kind things, just like Jesus would.

It would be hard to give something up for 40 days. The story made us think about how strong Jesus was.

During Lent we could help people in need such as giving food and money to the homeless. We can be kind to people and give money to charity. We can care for others. We can cheer people up and do nice things for them. We should be kind.

Lent gives us an opportunity to know how Jesus would have felt whilst in the desert. Giving up something is a challenge and will test you but Jesus was strong, despite the temptations - we should also be able to do it.

Lent is important as a time we reflect on what Jesus did by fasting for 40 days. We think about our sins and how Jesus sacrificed himself at Easter time. As Christians, we may give up something for lent or try to be more kind to others.

During Lent, Christians do not eat certain foods. This includes meat, fish, fats, eggs and milky foods. They do this as a sign of sacrifice and to test their self-discipline. This is to represent the sacrifice that Jesus made.

Lent is important because it is a time for preparation before Easter. The 40 days of lent represent the sacrifice that Jesus made when he went into the desert for 40 days.

I think we should all do something, either it is giving up on something or just being more kinder. Imagine how much courage he had as he also had to leave his family and go on his journey by himself,so I think we should try to give up on something .

Lent helps us to understand how Jesus felt in the desert. Year 3 are going to give up chocolate, cake, ice lollies and sweets for lent.

Lent is important because Jesus gave up food for 40 days. It is important for us to sacrifice something we love to use or love to eat to show how much we love Jesus. It is a time to try to be better, kinder and help others.
