Forgiveness

* This week we are looking at the value of forgiveness.  
* Watch the video on the blog. Bishop Bridgeman children have produced a fantastic video this for this week, looking at the importance of our Christian value of forgiveness
* How does God’s peace make us feel?
* We can choose to be peace makers or peace breakers. Who do you know that is a peace maker? Can you find some examples of peace makers in the bible? How do they behave? What do they do to maker peace, or ‘make up’?
* Why do you think it is important to forgive?
* How can you tell if people who have said they are ‘sorry’ really mean it?
* How does God want us to behave when there is conflict?
* How can we help others to behave as we think God wants us to?
* Use your window, door and mirror key rings to reflect on the value of forgiveness. How do you feel now? What have you discovered? What will you take away from this week’s Ethos to Go?

We think being about to say the word 'sorry' is important as it makes the other person feel better. Some children said that saying the word sorry made them feel better too.

We enjoyed talking about the special friendships we have in our lives. We reflected on our own understanding of friendship and how friendship can make a difference to our quality of life. We thought about what we could do to be a better friend too!

Today we discussed how God forgave us when Jesus died for our sins. We then discussed ways we could be peacemakers between friends that are arguing, and that we can encourage each other to forgive in every day life.

It is important to forgive others because if we decide not to we will regret it. Once we forgive someone we can forget about what they did to you and you can be friends.

When we went through the door we talked about treating people equally when we show forgiveness. We don't just show forgiveness to our best friends we show it to everyone.

In class 7, we discussed that it's important to forgive each other so that we can build friendships. We also talked about the importance of being sorry for wrong doings and that you must apologise for your actions.

If we've been unkind we say sorry. We forgive each other when we say sorry. God forgives us when we say sorry straight away, just like a bubble popping.

We discuss that if you fall out with a friend you should forgive them because a lack of forgiveness can be a negative chain reaction and effect more people than you think. You should always forgive because if you forgive someone they will forgive you

Gods peace makes us feel warm because it makes feel warm inside. A peace maker is someone who spreads peace around the world. I think peace makers are important because they stop peace breakers.

I think everyone should forgive each other so we can make friends. Everyone should forgive each other because it makes peace. we think we should forgive each other because it means you are a peace maker.

We think that you are a good person if you make peace and it is always positive to forgive someone, even if they are in the wrong. It is what Jesus would do.

Forgiveness is important otherwise we can lose special friends over things that can be resolved. We think forgiveness is very important but know that it can sometimes be hard to forgive others. We think talking to each other can help us to forgive.
